7. Let’s look at some of the differences in the priest of Aaron and that of Melchizedek.

8.  Where did Jesus go when He left this earth? He went as Our High Priest to heaven.   "Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by His own blood He _______ in ________ into the ________ _________, having obtained eternal __________ for us.” Hebrews 9:12.

He went into The Holy Place. We know from the Old Testament, what articles of furniture were in The Holy Place? (Read) Exodus 26:32-35. Verse 34 we see only the ark of God was in The Most Holy Place. There were only three articles of furniture, The Candlestick, table (which is The Table of Showbread), The Golden alter in The Holy Place. Exodus 40:22-26.

Truly God is good to Israel, even to such as are of a clean heart. But as for me, my feet were almost gone; my steps had well nigh slipped. For I was envious at the foolish, when I saw the prosperity of the wicked. For there are no bands in their death: but their strength is firm. They are not in trouble as other men; neither are they plagued like other men. Therefore pride compasseth them about as a chain; violence covereth them as a garment. Their eyes stand out with fatness: they have more than heart could wish. They are corrupt, and speak wickedly concerning oppression: they speak loftily. They set their mouth against the heavens, and their tongue walketh through the earth. Therefore his people return hither: and waters of a full cup are wrung out to them. And they say, How doth God know? and is there knowledge in the most High? Behold, these are the ungodly, who prosper in the world; they increase in riches. Verily I have cleansed my heart in vain, and washed my hands in innocency. For all the day long have I been plagued, and chastened every morning. If I say, I will speak thus; behold, I should offend against the generation of thy children. When I thought to know this, it was too painful for me; Until I went into the sanctuary of God; then understood I their end. Surely thou didst set them in slippery places: thou castedst them down into destruction. How are they brought into desolation, as in a moment! they are utterly consumed with terrors. As a dream when one awaketh; so, O Lord, when thou awakest, thou shalt despise their image. Thus my heart was grieved, and I was pricked in my reins. So foolish was I, and ignorant: I was as a beast before thee. Nevertheless I am continually with thee: thou hast holden me by my right hand. Thou shalt guide me with thy counsel, and afterward receive me to glory. Whom have I in heaven but thee? and there is none upon earth that I desire beside thee. My flesh and my heart faileth: but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion for ever. For, lo, they that are far from thee shall perish: thou hast destroyed all them that go a whoring from thee. But it is good for me to draw near to God: I have put my trust in the Lord GOD, that I may declare all thy works. Psalms 73

9.   Where does John see Christ in heaven? Revelation 1:12-16 verse 13 "And in the midst of the seven _____________ one like The Son of Man...." John sees him in the apartment where the candlesticks were in The Holy Place. When Stephen was put to death, he looked up into heaven and beheld Christ. “And The Son of Man standing on the right _______ of God.” Acts 7:55, 56 but he, being full of The Holy Ghost, looked up steadfastly into heaven, and saw the Glory of God and Jesus standing on the Right hand of God, and said, behold, I see the heavens opened, and the son of man standing of the right hand of God. Read Hebrews 10:12.

"The ministration of The Priest throughout the year was in the first apartment of The Sanctuary “Within the veil” [Hebrews 6:19] which formed the door and separated the Holy place from the outer court, represents the work of ministration upon which Christ entered at His ascension. It was the work of The Priest in The Daily ministration to present before God. The blood of the sin offering, also the incense which ascends with the prayers of Israel. So did Christ plead His blood before The Father in behalf of sinners, and present before Him also, with the precious fragrance of His own righteousness, the prayers of penitent believers. Such was the work of ministration in the first apartment of The Sanctuary in Heaven.”  The Great Controversy 420

10. How long would He officiate in heaven as Our High Priest? Hebrews 9:26 "For then must He often have suffered since The Foundation of the world. But now _____________ in the end of the world hath He appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of Himself.”

11. How important is Christ work for us in The Heavenly Sanctuary? (Last part) Hebrews 9:26. "...To put away ___________ by the sacrifice of himself.” Only by the blood of Christ can our sins be washed away.

“The intercession of Christ in man’s behalf in The Sanctuary above is as essential to the plan of Salvation as was His death upon The Cross. By His death He began that work which after His resurrection He ascended to complete in heaven... Jesus has opened the way to The Father’s throne, and through His mediation the sincere desire of all who come to him in faith may be presented before God.”

Great Controversy 489

Unless correct ideas of true worship and true reverence are impressed upon the people, there will be a growing tendency to place the sacred and eternal on a level with common things, and those professing the truth will be an offense to God and a disgrace to religion. They can never, with their uncultivated ideas, appreciate a pure and holy heaven,

and be prepared to join with the worshipers in the heavenly courts above, where all is purity and perfection, where every being has perfect reverence for God and His holiness.                                          5 Testimonies 500
